Classification
Skin grafts are divided into two categories on the basis of thickness:
(1) split-thickness (or partial-thickness) grafts and (2) full-thickness grafts.
A full-thickness graft contains the entire epidermis and dermis, whereas a split-thickness graft contains the epidermis but only part of the dermis .
Split-thickness grafts are further subdivided into thin and thick split-thickness grafts.
